Poor thing. A couple of things I have been told is to try to keep the the diaper off for as long as possible. Air helps heal the area. Do not use baby wipes use a cool washcloth and pat dry. You can also use vaseline or baby aquaphor instead of the other rash creams. I always apply a thick layer of ointment before bedtime to help keep diaper rash away. Good luck! Oh yeah and find another Ped.

my son is allergic to the zinc in most meds. my advice would be to not use baby wipes try to let the area air dry and let him lay on a towel nude to expose the area to dry. most diaper rashes are caused by yeast so u could use some monistat or even a genaric yeast infection medicine, your dr will probably prescribe nystatin. thats what they gave my son.

I was told by my ped that a bad diaper rash could turn into a yeast infection. And, to use Monistat 7... but my baby is a girl and I don't know if the same would apply to a boy. The Monistat 7 is just used externally for 7 days... applied twice a day. The butt paste and the destin have a chemical "zinc***" just makes a bad rash worse and makes the poor baby scream!!!
