Lily is nearly 5 weeks old and since the day we brought her home she has always been good at napping whether it is in her moses basket, in her swing or on us. Since the weather has gotten really warm she is simply refusing to nap in the daytime crying persistently when we put her down. We have tried just letting her cry, for anywhere as much as 10-15minutes but she simply will not go down!

Any ideas if the hot weather is related?

Our son used to have trouble settling at night when he was younger and it was really hot. I would lie down and feed him with all the windows open for a breeze and once it got to about 11pm the night air would get a bit cooler and he would calm down and sleep. Your baby may only need a sheet overnight.

same here as well. stip them down to her nappy. are you formula feeding or breastfeeding? either way i know that there is a growth spurt somewhere around that time which can last a week or more. very clingy always grumpy drinking alot more than usual.

We have a ceiling fan in the room already but I don't know how much good it is doing. How about stripping her down to her nappy?
