I went through this very same thing with my daugther... and doctors say as long as they are at the weight they need to be, then there is no reason they should be waking up to eat. So my husband and I toughed it out and let her cry herself back to sleep.. the first night she cried for 45 minutes, and it was really hard! The second night it was 30, until after about 4 days she slept through the night altogether! Now at 13 months, she tells me "night night". I also have always put her to bed between 730 and 8. Hope this helps!

Quoting Ashley:

Put the baby down by 6pm and leave them for a little while (30 min at least) if they wake up at night (if they are okay, not a poopy diaper, etc.) Most babies wake up at this age at night because they go to bed too late and their brain gets overstimulated and agitated and that causes them to wake up. Try the bedtime around 6pm (with dinner at 5pm, followed by bath and a full bottle or BF) and then down by 6pm.

he does go to bed at 6 :(

ha ha i am going throught the same thinkg and its driving me mad as i am pregnant with my secon and need my sleep. my 8mth old is even still in our bed and wont go in the cot so i have double dramas. he used to sleep all night but starting losing weight so i was told to wake up in the middle of the night for a feed. BAD MOVE!!!! now he wants it all the time. i find that i can ususally get through the night if i give him a big bottle round 8pm-9pm and if he wakes i try to just pat him back to sleep. i have also never given him a bottle when he goes to bed, i try to feed him, then play then sleep so he doesnt associate bottle and bedtime........
