My 11 month old has started grinding his teeth. Apart from the noise being unbearable it can't be doing his teeth any good! He doesn't do it in his sleep he does it when he's awake which leads me to believe that he likes it?! Help! Any ideas or advice most welcome!!!

My son is only 9 months old and he started to grind his teeth when he was about 8 months old...what i did was every time he would grind his teeth i would squeeze his cheeks together....he thought it was funny and it made him stop grinding his teeth....he no longer grinds his teeth for now....but im sure he will do it when he gets older.....hope this helped.....

There is NOTHING you can do. My 2 year old did it, asked the doctor and nothing! It is something they do to relieve pain from teething. There are no mouthgaurds little enough and dentists won't do anything either. They can't grind them enough to affect their adult teeth, so don't worry too much. Unfortunately, you may be listening to it for a while. My daughter finally stopped once she got her last 2 year old molar in. GOOD LUCK! (It won't last forever!)
