How long did you keep your baby in your room with you before moving him/her into their own room?

I had an extra bed in her room from day one, so she was never in my room - I was in hers. But I started getting her used to her crib DURING THE DAY from day 2 or 3. At first I had her in a snuggle-nest in her room, but only for a few weeks, she is now happily sleeping in her crib for 6 hours at 7 weeks old.

my son is currently 3 months and still sleeping in our room, we have the playpen installed and he sleeps through the night. I'm not in a hurry to have him sleep in his own room since it's on and upper floor and I don't feel comfortable having him alone upstairs just yet. I guess when your ready for him to be in his own room is when you have to change rooms. I just like him being close to me.

Are you breastfeeding? My daughter still wakes for 1-2 feedings at 2mo. old. I will move her when she sleeps from 11pm to 6 am w/o waking. Its just easier. Sometimes she naps in her crib during the day. Seriously I couldn't imagine having her in a different room from day one.

7 weeks she adjusted quickly, it was harder on me than it was on her.

My son slept in his bassinet in my room the first month. Then the second month i slowly weaned him from my room and got him used to being in his crib in his own room. He slept everyother nite in my room in his bassinet and the in between nites he was in his crib. I found this worked great, and the transition from bassinet to crib was not hard at all. Also during the day when he would nap i would put him in his crib, to help more getting him used to his room and his crib. By the 3 month he was completely sleeping in his own room and had no problems with it. hoped this helped

From day 3 he was in his own cot only because I had feeding issues otherwise it would have been day 1. He now loves his cot amd sleeps very very well. He has slept through the night since he was about 3.5mths old because he is comfortable in there and hasn't been moved around too much. Monitors work wonders...you can hear every sound as if they are in the room with you but more privacy.

i read somewhere that you should keep your baby in your room for the first year, which in my opinion is totally nuts. but it is up to you. my daughter is 3 months old and just started sleepin in her crib, which is in my room now also. im not comfortable with her sleeping without me close by just yet. i say its whatever makes you feel better.

I let my daughter sleep in my room until she was 4 months. We had a playpen in our room that she slept in. I never felt comfortable putting her in her own room until she was 4 months. I think its whenever you feel comfortable. I never liked the idea so I didnt do it until I was ready to let her sleep in her own room. My daughter sleeps great in her room. From the moment we started putting her in. I dont think it hurts to let them sleep in your room as long as you want, They will be fine to sleep in there room whenever you decide.

If u want any privacy when they get older, I suggest you keep them in their room from day one. Once they get used to falling asleep in ur room, they won't want to leave!

put your baby in his/her own room whenever you feel ready to! if you are worried about the baby, youre not going to get a good night sleep and its not worth it!

My son was in our room for the first three months. I think we would have moved him into his own room sooner, but at that time did not have an extra room until he was 3 mos. old. My daughter was in her own room from the first day we brought her home.

I kept my son in our room for a couple of weeks in a bassinet then I moved him to his own room. Its up to you and your little one. A lot of it depends on what you have them sleeping in because they get too big for bassinets and to mobile as well after a few months.

We kept her in our room for about 5 months. She was in her own bassinet next to our bed.

When she outgrew the bassinet is when we moved her to her own room in her crib.
