P.S. My daughter was also about 6 months when I started her on solids.

When I introduced solids to my daughter, we kept meals and milk seperate. She would breastfeed first thing in the morning, then a couple hours later have some rice cereal and if she was still hungry some fruit, then a couple hours later, breastfeed, then a bit later lunch (usually cereal mixed with a fruit), then a bit later breastfeed then she would have dinner about 7 and I would mix cereal with a veggie puree then a couple hours later, breastfeed and bedtime. I never ever gave her juice until she was almost one and she is 18 months and still only has it once or twice a week and it's always 100% fruit or that fruit plus veggies juice. I don't think it's necessary if they are eating a sufficient amount of fruits in a day and it can be hard on their teeth and have a ridiculous amount of sugar. Hope this helps.
