I ticked all the boxes for having a big bubba - I was 10lb 4oz born, am 5ft10", had a HUGE belly (fundal height always measured weeks and weeks bigger and was 49cm 4 days before I delivered) and I have a strong family history of big babies. I was monitored closely, had several growth scans and started getting checked for suitability for induction at 38.5wks because they thought I was having an 11 pounder. A scan 4 days past my due date gave an estimated foetal weight of 10lb 7oz. When my daughter was finally born (11 days late, vaginal delivery) she was a smaller-than-expected 9lb 6oz and 55cm and it was a pleasant surprise :) Still big but nothing like the 11lbs I was expecting. So don't worry.... labour hurts regardless of how big the baby is and we generally only make babies as big as we can deliver. My Mum is only 5ft4" and had 10lb4oz and 9lb10oz babies with short labours and no tears. It can be done. You'll be fine :)

Yes. I was terrified about how big my baby would be! Right up until I got to hold him in my arms. Odd question, but do you live at a high altitude?

i was HUUGE and i was reassured that i was having a normal size baby untill i had to have an emergency c section coz they couldnt deliver my baby naturally coz he was so big. if you have fears ask your midwife to have an ultrasound and check better to be safe my son arrived on time at 10pound 12 ounces.

Most babies are the right size for the mothers bodies, but that doesnt really matter because you will forget about the whole thing right after the baby is born!

Take it from me. Don't worry. Before I was pregnant I was 130lbs & 5'2. Before I gave birth I was 158lbs. I had to have a C-section because my son was born at 9lbs 13oz. Big & healthy baby. We both fine but I was pretty scare when I found out 2 days before surgery what a big boy I was carrying. Sometimes it just happends. I was 6lbs 9oz & my hubby was 8.5lbs at birth when his mother was only 36wks. I blame it on genetics...lol hang in there. Everything will be okay.
