I was told that it varies so much that its hard to generalize. Mine personally has gone crazy. Im breastfeeding and semi-supplementing. My son is almost 4 months old and while I dont have bad cramps and its fairly light most of the time, I bleed probably 4 out of 7 days a week. So... I dont know.

I must say that my period was absolutely better after giving birth because I use to have severe cramps and now I don't have them anymore

Glad Im not the only one - I also find my period heavier and more painful! In fact it is heavier than my pre-baby 'heavy period days' each day! The GP said to give it a few months...so I do hope it goes back to 'normal'.

The first time i had my period after i had my daughter lasted 3 weeks and was super painful, now mine are almost non existant, but i am also on a higher estrogen dose of B.C. because of the 3 week period. Mine got better, but its also because i started birth control like 5 weeks post partum

this is only my 2nd period since my son was born. this one is a lot heavier than the last but i've had no cramping at all and i used to be doubled over with cramps. i know once my mom had her first her cramps went away too. maybe everyone is just different but iknow it worked for us

I was told by my doctor for years that once I had a child my cycle would more than likely become lighter and less painful. This is not the case, was anyone else under the same jadedness?
