Well I am 18 weeks along now and decided to take them out shortly after I found out I was expecting as my breasts were very swollen and tender.
My question now is, I have had some leaking from the holes and to my knowledge the piercings have healed..is it possible I am leaking colostrum this early?
Thanks for your help :)

I started leaking colostrum at 8 weeks so yes it is completely normal and possible.

I had both of my nipples pierced for almost 3 yrs before I had my daughter, I took them out when I was almost 8 months pregnant, I did not have and problems with leaking or nursing, I nursed for about 10 months an pumped! So, yes it is very much possible to breastfeed successfully!

Yes you can, however I also took the piercings out; as Candice said before, milk does come out from the holes...

but if you don't have a problem with it, then go ahead and keep them.

I wondered that too, so I never got my pierced. I had heard that it MIGHT cause some problems. But I think it would make it easier...like someone already said, 'it's an extra hole for milk to come out."

Yes. Mine were pierced too and my baby is exclusively breast fed. I took the piercings out though for hygiene reasons. Milk actually comes out one of the holes
