My 9 month old is now eating 3 meals a day, I am worried about his formula consumption. He has been only taking 10-12 oz a day. This seems like too little to me, I cantget him to take any more though. He is still only on cereals, vegetables and some fruit(2 small jars of vegetables and 1/2 a jar of fruit a day), could he not be getting enough?

I wouldn't worry too much. I used to think that my 5 month old son wasn't getting enough to eat b/c he would eat between 20-24 oz of formula and a 1/2 jar of food for lunch compared to my friend's baby boy who would eat much more. My dr. said that he wasn't worried b/c 1) he was gaining weight 2) all babies are different and 3) babies go through spurts of being really hungry and not hungry at all. It's just like adults, some days you feel like you can't get full and others you might eat one meal. But I agree with Etta, as long as he's gaining weight he should be okay.

As long as the baby continues to gain weight, they are getting enough. Try not to force more on them if they don't want it. Babies are usually good at knowing when they're full. And just like adults, their appetites change from day to day and week to week.

My son is 8 months, and i give him cereal in the morning, 1 small jar of veg for lunch, and cereal with half a jar of fruit at night. he has 2 bottles during the night, about 10-12 oz in total. with all his meals i warm a small bottle, he sips it between bites. i hope ur giving him enough, cuz my son is eating almost the same as urs. lol!
