I have an 11 week old, she's my first, and for about 2 weeks she's been drooling lots and for the last couple of days she's had a bit of a red bottom, has been sleeping more than usual and hasn't been her normal self (she's been a bit more sooky and clingy).... i'm not sure but i think she may be teething....

At what age did your baby start teething??? and what were the first signs???

i agree with most responses but also there are some cost free ways to relieve pain if your baby is teething. i wash my hands and rub on my sons gums top and bottom in the front until i find the "hot spot" its usually instant relief for him. i also take some of his wash cloths and wet them then ring them out pretty good and lay them flat on a plastic bag in the freezer. when he gets really fussy from teething pain these frozen rags are a godsend and he loves to chew on them, but remember to ring them out good before freezing because doctors warn against giving water to a baby under 6 months, something about saline levels and seizures

Hi there, My baby started teething at 4 1/2 months, the poor little thing was miserable for a few days, red cheeks, drooling etc, I though it was early, but apparently it is common, I suppose every baby is different. : )

we thought my son was teething early on it as he just wanted to put everything in his mouth and he dribbled .. a lot. but my hv said he was just mouthing (investigating things by putting them in his mouth .. which makes them dribble)

however he really started teething at about 5and a half months .. the whole bright red cheeks, being really irritable and whiney .. and waking up screaming or screaming in his sleep ... its also making him have lots of trapped wind .. we've always had this problem since he was tiny but now he's teething .. its got worse =[

he's now 7months old and he's bottom 2 teeth are half way through.

we find that calpol and gripewater before bed time can help reduce the amount he wakes up and we use calgel on his numb gums.

If your baby pulls at their ears alot its another good indication of teething. I also use the teething tablets with my son and they do work wonders.

first time mom here too. only way i could tell if my daughter was teething really was if the Anbesol worked. lol. teeth come in in a set pattern (usually). try some on the top and bottom at the very front of the gums. if it's instant relief...IT's TEETHING! lol

BABIES CAN START TEETHING AT VERY YOUNG AGES ALTHOUGH VERY UNCOMMON AT 11 WEEKS IT COULD HAPPEN.  THE BEST THINGS THAT I FOUND THAT WORKED FOR MY SON WAS ORAJELS TEETHING TABLETS.  I PUT TWO IN MY SONS MOUTH AT A TIME AND THE DISSOLVE AND HE WOULD STOP BEING FUSSY IMMEDIATELY.  THEY WERE LIFESAVERS!!!

My baby started teething around 9 weeks old.Other signs of teething are coughing, ear ache and ear infection, fever, and runny nose.My baby girl had a lil of all of those signs at some point or another and she's normally very happy but with the teething she was extra fussy and cried when i left her sight. If in doubt a doctor visit couldn't hurt..it's better to be safe then sorry because you could be wrong it could be someting else!
