zoe, losing weight can be a big headache especially after having a new baby. I has c- sections not sure about you. I have 3 kids my first is 6 and with her she had so conplications after birth and flew o baptist hospital so i was up walking the next day and get to go to baptist to see her. i done alot of walking back and forth to the hospital which was right to the street from where i was stayin. my second is 3 and i gain alot of weight with him but just walked and ate special k cereal. that works wonders for me i eat 3 bowls a day, lunch, and dinner. my third is 1 month and 6 days i tried breastfeeding with her which went well i done that for the first month and now i am back to eating my special k cereal and take aerobics to tone up my stomach. with my last daughter i was only belly and didn't gain but 2 pounds the entire time i was carrying. i am smaller than i was when i had my first daughter. I would say to try the special k cereal no added sugar just the way it is and see how that works for you.

Loosing that weight can be hard. My first it came off in 3 mos. My second I am still trying to loose and it has been years. Walking works good. It does not tone up the body, but it is a good exercise for getting the pounds off. Sit-ups help with getting the belly back into shape. Also give yourself time. Doctors say to give yourself a year to loose the weight. Some loose it faster than others. If you are eating a healthy diet and exercising regurally it will come off.

Give it some time and it will come off. Breastfeeding definitely helps you to lose the weight. I gained 42lbs with my son and at my 6 week post partum check up still had 15lbs to go. It has been 3 months now since baby was born and have 5 more lbs to go.

I lost all my baby weight just from breast feeding, it took a couple months but it all came off just by breastfeeding my son, and I gained 40 pounds! so it was greatly benificial for both of us! But don't get too rushed its only been 6 weeks and your body is still trying to adjust to not being pregnant anymore. So just give it time.

All i have to say is keep eating healthy, it will come off be patient! like the old saying goes.. it took 9 months to put it on and it wont come off over night! myself, i have had my baby 5 months ago and now i am just starting to see the weight poor off... your body goes through lots of hormonal change! I wouldnt suggest doing any serious weight loss if your breast feeding tho, but even then if you are breast feeding you will naturally loose alot of weight, if your not breast feeding then you can start to diet, but just remember it will take so time due to your bodies hormonal imbalances but i assure you it will come off my dear! grin and bare! i know how it feels! PS... try drinking lots of green tea, and if you dont like it hot drink it cold! its really seeming to help me!!

Just take it easy at the moment! You only gave birth 6 weeks ago so your body is still recovering and will be for some months yet. Having said that, the others have advised good stuff like walking. One of the best ways of loosing weight though is breastfeeding so if you are doing that, be assured that once the baby gets to about three and a half months old, you will start to loose weight, as he becomes much more efficient at feeding. I was back at my normal weight straight after the birth, ok about 2 kg heavier, but still fitted most jeans etc but I actually lost a few more kgs over the months as I kept breastfeeding. Don't worry, I still have a flabby belly and it has been nearly three years since I gave birth!
