Poor darling - (both of you!!!) get him some toys that you can play with together, then maybe he will play by himself for a few mintues so you can get things done!

I agree w/ ashley just let him cry it out bc its from where he was held so much when he was younger, & its starting to spoil him, which will just get worse if you keep picking him up everytime he cries. & people say that you cant spoil a baby that young but YES YOU CAN. Just give him some toys to keep him occupied for awhile.

I think just trying to distract him with a toy or something. It's too hard to let them cry but you want them to be independent too.

Hi. I am not into the whole 'cry it out thing' at all. Try playing hide and seek with ur little guy. Try him in his high chair with a couple of toys when ur loading the dishwasher. Reassure him that mummy 'disappears' and then play a game of 'peek' when you pop up again for more pots.

Quoting Kimberly:

I have a 9 month old and I do not have this problem but I do have a friend that does and she let her little one cry for 20 mins at a time for like 3 days and her daughter quickly got over it.

He's just a baby. Give him what he needs and he will relax soon. Your love and attention will give him confidence and he will learn to become independent because of it. Don't push your child away from you. This will just teach him to close off emotionally.

you hae to be strong... if you dont do it now it will only get harder.. he is use to you picking him up and he doesnt know any different so you have to teach him, once he is use to it ur problem will go

I've never been in your situation, but I think maybe you should just let him cry it out. My friend's son is 4 and she still carries him around. He expects it cuz she has always done it.
