Hi everyone would love to hear back from you on what milestones my 6mth old should be doing. My friend is always asking me is she sitting up, crawling, holding her own bottle and what not, because her daughter was apparently doing all of this by about 5mths. My daughter is siting up un aided, she can sometimes pull herself up on things, not crawling yet but i think she will be soon. She is not holding her bottle yet either. I would just love to hear back about your 6mth old to see if my daughter is not the only one that isn't doing all this before 5 mths old. Thanks.

my twins didn't start sitting up until 7 and 9 months. They both started holding their own bottle around 6.

My daughter is 6 months and 2 weeks and she isnt crawling either, she can hold the bottle herself but usually doesnt. She rolls around like crazy and sits up byherself, but isnt really trying to stand up or anything. She plays with toys and passes them from hand to hand and responds to her name. Hope that helps! Best of luck!

I have a son that is 6 months old. His b-day is 3-10-09/ he LOVES to hold and play with his toys. He loves to communicate with ppl. He rolls from his tummy to back only bc he hates to be on his tummy :) he is starting to roll back to tummy but hasnt made it all the way yet, he is a pork chop (lOl) he is NOT sitting on his own unless I put him on the couch, and he still tips over. he is not holding his bottle by himself, he likes to help though.

I am a mommy of 5! I have had full and pre term babies and they are all so different! They were not even close with somethings!! EXAMPLE: my 1st son got his 1st tooth at 4 months old, my 2nd son got his 1st tooth at 11 months! And my 1st crawled at 6 months, my 2nd NEVER crawled!!! :) just dont worry about what other mothers say or there babies do because no matter how good of a mom or as smart as your baby is they are only this small for so long! Take advantage of it!!!! Just relax and soak up every day!! :) the best of luck to you and your daughter!!!!

1st of all every baby is different, your baby could be walking before your friends, its not a competition, they all reach the same milestones at their own pace.

my son is 6 months, he is crawling, trying to stand up (yes sounds really strange) rolls all over the place, he cant really sit up unaided, falls to 1 side after a minute or so, is just a bout holding his own bottle,

please dont be so concerened at least u have a healthy child :)

Hi i have a few examples from the ages and stages handbook but remember that all babies are developing at different rates. Following objects with eyes, looks in the direction of a new sound, responds to own name, smiles and babbles when given attention, rolls from back to stomach or vice versa, push up on hands while on tummy, sits with support, brings hands or toy to mouth, use hands to reach or grasp.

each child develops differently! while your friends baby may be doing some things differently than your daughter, your baby could start walking before hers and getting teeth! my daughters 9 months old and she is already a terror... enjoy that your baby isn't too busy yet... i miss my daughter letting me cuddle her and rock her to sleep!

By 6 months my daughter was rolling over in both directions and sitting up for a little while by herself. She didn't start crawling till she was 9 months and did the army crawl for about a month before that. She didn't start pulling herself up and walking around furniture till 10 months. She is 10 months now. I wouldn't worry all babies go at their own pace. Some start walking at like 9 months where as others don't walk till like 15 months. Looks like your daughter is on the right track with her sitting up by herself already.

I think sometimes some mums can get a bit competitive with their babies, don't get sucked into it as every baby is different! Your daughter sounds like she is progressing just fine.

you need to remember that every child is different and the other main thing to remember that alot of mums exaggerate on what their child can do to make the child sound better.

my daughter sat unaided at 5 and half months, she didn't crawl until 8 months though, she is now 10 and half months, she can stand unaided, stand up from a sitting posistion unaided, she will walk aided. she held her cup and drank from it herself at 4 months, but over time she has perfected the skill, but she only started holding her bottle herself at about 8 months. i am letting her doing everything in her own time, im not fussed if she is behind other children cause everything she learns is special no matter what age.

alot of my friends say what their children can do, when clearly they cant. its called having good imaginative skills. just enjoy each thing they do, no matter how behind or advanced they are. too many people worry, you should enjoy life not worry about the finer details.

I have a 3 year old, She sat unsupported at 5 months, but she did not crawl or hold her bottle until 7 months. She was not even getting up on her knees until almost 7 months. And she is too smart for her own good now, so I would not worry.

hey my son is now 7months old.

and he learnt to sit up at 6months (well a week before he turned 6months) and learnt how to roll fully (back-front-back)

he got into the crawling position but ended up doing what looked like press ups.

at 7months ... he can now crawl, pull himself up (to sit and stand .. he could sit up at 6months if i put him in that position but now he can do it himself) .. he practically pulls himself up on everything ... hard getting him to lie down in his cot at night lol!! he can only just hold his bottle when his lying down .... i have the avent bottles and my mum says they are too heavy for him .. and he babbles a lot .. recently he's started going mam mam mam, da and ba.

he walks if we hold his hands as well.

anyway every baby is completely different so i wouldn't be too concerned =]
