I'm not sure which birth control method I am going to use after my daughter is born. What have you experienced with either/ both of these methods? Which do you prefer?

I had Mirena and got pregnant very easy after I took it out. Mirena prevents either the sperm to enter the falopian tubes, the hormones prevent the ovaries to produce an egg and/or it doesn't let fertilized egg to implant itself into the uterus.
I'm having my 6 weeks PP check up in 2 weeks and I'm getting it again.

Hey christen! Congrats on your little girl!

I am on the Mirena! and i love it. It took 3mins to put in and i didnt even feel it. Also when your ready to have another, you can take it out, and try right away!

My periods are really light and will most likely stop, and ya never have to think about it or do anything! Good luck

My mind was set on Mirena for after I had my daughter. I talked to my stepmom(FNP) about it and after I found out what Mirena actually does, I definately chose Nuvaring. I guess it depends on your beliefs, personal and religious. But what Mirena does is actually aborts a fertilized egg, and thats how it controls pregnancy. Nuvaring on the other hand works just like the pill but you only have to change it once a month. no worries about taking it everyday. I chose nuvaring because I just didnt agree with the way mirena works. thats just my opinion. and I LOVE nuva ring. its easy to use and awesome i only have to change it once a month.
