My 15 week old and I are both running fevers today. What do I do? Is it doctor worthy?

He's happy as a clam,I am totally miserable! He is at 99.4, I'm over 100. Is it worth missing work, going to the doctor? Money is tight, please help the freaked out new mommy.

Thanks everyone. My son is doing fine, I unfortunatly have severe bronchitis and won't be doing much of anything any time soon. Any mom who has been sick and had to take care of an infant too, I feel your pain. It is difficult to do anything, plus you feel guilty if you can't play with them all the time.

If you don't have the heart to do his temp rectally take it in both his armpits and in between his legs. My Doctor always says as long as he's happy and eating he's ok. Since they can't tell you what's wrong, most doctors go by their eating.

They reallly don't get too concerned unless baby's temp is over 103 ish rectally. Make sure you keep up on your tylenol for baby, you might be able to alternate with ibuprofen too ( they have to be a certain age to take ibuprofen so check on that), also keep him hydrated! He should have 6-10 wet/dirty diapers a day. Stay home from work though! Feel better soon!

Yes I would if you can't afford both of you then you should at least take the baby. If he gets RSV or any other infections then they could hospitalize him. I am tight with money too but if it has to do with my babies I find a way.

Doctors like it if you take the baby's temperature rectally. Otherwise, they don't consider it very accurate. In my experience, they say not to worry about the baby's temperature if the baby is acting normally. If they're really lethargic, not acting like themselves or non responsive, then you really need to call the doctor.
For both you and the baby, be sure to stay hydrated and get plenty of rest.
