I used to feel the same way, my son has a little bit of chub in the cheek and on his legs and thats it. But after consulting with my doc I realized that is how he is, he is healthy, gaining weight etc just is a little on the "light" side of the growth chart but still within normal range. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Curious though, how old is your baby and *for my personal curiousity is he formula or breast fed?

Quoting Renae:

You can compare your baby's weight to the "average" on the World Health Organization growth chart. It's in kilos (divide pounds by 2.2 to get kilos - incase you didn't know).

http://www.who.int/childgrowth/standards...

25th to 75th percentile is considered to be normal weight with 50th percentile the average. Below 25th is underweight and above 75th is overweight, according to them.

I agree but i wouldnt say 'overweight' i would say above average, both my babies have been on the 98th percentile since birth and they are not overweight they are just big babies. They dont even look fat or chubby because they are tall and stocky.

All babies are different, try not to compare them, so long as your baby is happy and healthy

Your baby doesn't need to have chubby cheeks. If you're concerned about his weight I would suggest visiting your doctor. I have the reverse problem, my daughter LOOKS like she should be chubby, but in fact is losing weight and waay under average for weight. And yet, I get told to put her on a diet from complete strangers!! All babies look different, but your doctor can tell you if you should be concerned. Best of luck!!!
