So my 4 month old daughter sleeps through out the night (thank goodness), but on many days out of the week she only 20 minute naps. This turnsout badly each time since she isnt fully rested, and is HORRIBLY cranky.. Any one have suggestions?

My daughter was doing that around 4 months also. So i started putting her down earlier and she slept longer. If you put them down to early or too late they will only take a short nap. My daughter gets up around 6:30 and then she goes down for her first nap around 9 and she sleeps for about an hour and a half sometimes longer. Make sure you put her down for her first nap an hour or 2 after waking.

We went through the '20 min' naps when she was 4-5 months and i sarted to pull my hair out but eventually when she went down to just 2 naps a day (around 7 months), she was more tired and began to sleep longer (she was doing up to 2 hours both naps....HEAVEN!!!). Now that she is 14 months old and is on 1 nap a day, she is sleeping anywhere between 2-3.5 hours. Only advice i can give is do as much as you can to make your litle girl tired...keep her busy during her 'awake' time.....hopefully she will sleep longer cos she's more tired. Good luck!

Thanks ladies...I have tried walking and she loves that along with car rides but once I get home she wakes up. I cant walk or drive for 1 hr.bahhh..I am so frustrated, I cant get anything done during the day with her like this!

Long walks do wonders for my daughter when she gets fussy. She always tries to fight her sleep. I also would cuddle with her. She'd be tucked in one arm and I'd rock her and nap myself. Or I'd lay her beside me, hook one arm around her legs while her head rested on the other arm. I'd kiss her head and rub noses with her. Worked like a charm.
