Going out for our anniversary and want to know if I can have a drink with my husband? Is there anyone who is on Zoloft for postpartum depression and had a drink or two, that can help me out?

im not on it but a friend used to be and she used to drink..... but perhaps if u are depressed then drinking might worsen this....

im just not a fan of medication anyway i believe it covers things up but doesnt fix them. and then when u get off the medication, the problems are still there, but hey, if it stops you from harming yourself or your baby, im all for it.

I was addicted to weed, and got off it over my stay in hospital and when i got home. the health nurses were trying to get me to take valium to help me sleep CAN U BELIEVE it??!!! even whislt breastfeeding!! That shit is hard to come off, as are anti depressants. they are all just as addictive.

if i could give u any advice it would be to find other ways to relax... be it have a nice hot bath with lavender oil and candles and some chamomile tea and cut out caffiene in the arvo and at night...... whatever works for you.

Hope your doing ok. xxxx

I took Zoloft for quite some time and never had any adverse effects from having one or two drinks (I'm not sure if you are breastfeeding or not) so it should be fine (as long as you don't have any other medical conditions). If you have more than one or two drinks remember that alcohol is a depressant and antidepressants make hangovers really unpleasant! But definitely check with your doctor first.

I would first check with your doctor, but from what I have heard one drink is ok, but like I said TALK TO YOUR DOC FIRST sometimes alcohol can interfere with zoloft depending on the dose. Good luck!
