I've noticed that my 9 month old's little nose has an orange tinge to it, it is especially apparent in pictures. Any ideas why?

Usually the food is the culprit but be sure to consult your doctor, it could be jaundice. My son had it at birth and even after he was done with it still took his skin a while to even out from that orangy glow, especially his nose.

Thanks ladies for your wisdom and suggestions! She does eat a lot of orange stuff...time to eat more greens I guess!

it's usually because of what you are feeding them. if you are feeding them a lot of carrots and sweet potato's it will give your babies an orange tinge to their skin. even the mixed vegetables anything like that usually has carrots or sweet potato's in them. so if you are giving that kind of stuff to them almost daily their skin will change colour. my son had an orange tinge to his nose for the longest time and just like yours it was very noticeable in pictures. my friends baby who is 2 months younger than mine was the exact same way. it's nothing to worry about

Do you feed him lots of orange veggies? Carrots is a big one, but any veggie the is orange will do it. It is the Betta Caritine (sp) that causes the skin to turn orange. The nose might be just the area in which you notice it the most. It does not harm the body, just makes you look a bit orange. Try to mix more green veggies into the mix and that will help.
