My baby is 16 weeks old.

I was wondering what age is it okay to start feeding him rice cereal and such?

the nurses (plus the packets ) all say after 4 months, but it all depends on if u think ur abby is ready, dont try until 4 months and if ur not sure just ask ur nurse :)

4 or 5 months. make it really runny and give it a tblsp at a time. Then work up to more during a feeding. As you do this make it a little thicker too.

It's not recommended until 6 months, but a lot of parents do start earlier. I'm planning on waiting until at least 6 months personally.

My Dr. told me to do cereal at 4 months and also... i started my daughter with the rice cereal but it made her a little constipated... so i went with the oatmeal cereal and it worked great!

I started both of my boys at 4 1/2 months. I think doctors say anywhere from 4-6 months is a good age. You can start off by thinning out the rice cereal with lots of breast milk/formula, then gradually increase the thickness. The best sign to know if your baby is ready for foods, is when they are interested in what you are eating and sometimes reach for stuff on your plate. Won't hurt to try.

It all depends. I have had friends start their babies as early as 4 weeks. It all depends on the child, Does he not seem satisfied with just his formula or breast milk? maybe it is time - I would talk to your Doc first, a phone call won't hurt and it would give you the ultimate reassurance. Good luck - there are tons of benefits, happier baby, better sleeping.
