My baby is asleep the whole day and awake the whole night. How do I change his sleeping pattern? he is 4 months old.

My son was the exact same way. I worked parttime in the evening and since I didn't know I was pregnant until my 7th Month I didn't give myself a bedtime schedule until it was to late. So my mom said to flip him on a full moon. On the day of the full moon, when the baby is sleeping just pick your baby up and just flip from head to toe. And then lay him back down. Hopefully the next time he wakes up he will be awake until the evening time. I did that for my son now his last feeding is at 11:30pm and he doesn't wake up til 6AM for his 1st morning feeding, goes right back to sleep and wakes up again for my mom to feed him at around 10AM. Hope it helps you like it did me.

I had this problem because I worked overnights when I was pregnant. I gradually changed my hours of being awake and went to bed with my son. He goes to bed (with me) at night and sleeps about 11 hours now. I like sleeping with my son in the bed with me, he's 7 months old now.

Try waking him up a couple of hours before you want him to be in bed. I tried this with my baby. He started out not wanting to go to sleep at bedtime and then spent all day napping. Bedtime came around and he was not wanting to sleep again. So we started waking him up earlier and earlier every day (the first day it was 6:00, the next day 5:00, and withing a week he was up by 1:00 or 2:00) It was super hard to keep him awake when all he wanted to do was sleep but after a week of crying, now we let him sleep whenever he wants and he just naturally wakes up mid afternoon and is ready for bed at bedtime. (He still won't sleep if he's in the room alone, we're working on that issue right now, but at least he sleeps at night rather than all day)
