Hi, my baby girl is 7 months old and on the following eating schedule:

On waking i.e. 7am - bottle

9'ish - porridge

11'ish - bottle

1'ish - fruit

3'ish - bottle

5'ish - veggies

Then I give her a massage, bath and bottle again and bed time (usually around 7pm). She generally sleeps through the night - if she wakes up it's just for her dummy. My question is she use to love her veggies - but now really battling to get her to eat any ... how can I get her to eat it? Am I giving them to her at the wrong time? She absolutely loves her porridge and fruit? Also when can I starti introducing other foods and what other foods?

i found that my daughter ate her meat and veggies best around lunch time. when i fed her them at supper she really didn't want to eat them, but she always has room for fruit at supper! i also started feeding natalie meat around seven months. she still will not eat meat if it is fed from a spoon, she has to pick it up and feed it to herself. doesn't matter what kind of meat, but all meat she has to feed herself. cheese, yougurt, and toast crusts are also good snacks.

They make fruit and veggie mixes now, or just mix them yourself. put the veggies on the spoon, then dip the end in fruit...she'll taste the fruit going in. You could even try mixing it in the cereal. My son does not like the cereal, so I mix his veggies in and then he's good to go!Good Luck =)

Hi Shelley! I'm not sure about your daughter not wanting to eat her veggies any more but I do have some info on what to feed your baby and when. I bought an awesome book on amazon.com called "Food For Tots". It is written by a pediatrican and a mom so it had both angles of health and what kids actually like. This book says between 6 to 8 months start 24-40 ounces breast milk or formula, 1-2 ounces of diluted noncitrus juice, between 1-3 tablespoons of fruits & veggies twice daily. From 8 to 10 months 24-40 ounces breat milk or formula, yogurt, cheese daily, 2-4 ounces noncitrus juice, 3-4 tablespoons infant cereals once or twice daily, pasta, rice. 2-4 tablespoons of stage 2 or finely chopped table foods two to three times daily. 1-2 teaspoons up to 2-3 tablespoons strained or chopped meats, egg yolk, or legumes daily. And finally from 10 to 12 months 20-32 ounces breast milk or formula, yogurt, cheese daily. 1-2 ounces water. 2-4 ounces diluted noncitrus juice. 3-4 tablespoons infant cereals once or twice daily. Bread, Bagels, muffins, crackers. Stage 3 or table foods, 3-4 tablespoons fruits & veggies two or three times daily. 2-4 tablespoons Casseroles, finely chopped ground meats, quantity according to appetite.

Goodness that was quite a bit to type! Sounds like you have your daughter on a great schedule so far! Hope this was helpful!
