After having my son I have found it extremly difficult to go to a number two! It is horrible, really painful & there is quite alot of blood! (Sorry to be grosse) Is there anyone else that suffered with this symptom? Or does anyone have any good remedies or information on how to help it clear? I have a DR appt on Thursday but I really need something to soothe it asap! Its making me miserable! :(

Hemorrhoids are the secret no-one tells you about before you have a baby!!! And I think they are more painful than even giving birth!!! The best thing I found was hemorrhoid cream over the counter from the chemist/pharmacist. Whoever invented that stuff was a genius!!! You could also try prune or pear juice . . .

I suffered from the same problem and it does get better as the time goes by. It's just caused by the strain from delivery and the hemmroids caused from delivery. If you're nursing stool softeners are pretty much the only completely safe thing which u can get over the counter at a pharmacy and they can help you with which ones are safe for you, if your not nursing.....if it's too bad you can use suppository's , laxatives, or enimas. At one point I had to use a suppository and an enima just to be able to go once. I wouldn't recommend using the supp or enima more than every 3 days if you really need it and only until you are able to go on your own because body's will get accustomed to having them and in a way get addicted. So only use them periodically.

Try a sitz bath or jump in the tub....I know we don't have much time but it will help!

I had that problem - it's only just going away now - 6 weeks later - but it gets better week by week. My dr said it was the hemorrhoids, and that's also where the blood came from. Really, stool softeners are all you can do - hemorrhoid meds are not recommended right away. I would have pain just sitting down after going #2 - for that I used desiten - figured it helped babies, why not me? :)
