I feel so bad for my little guy. His back is always so sweaty from the plastic crib mattress. Any suggestions? We have a/c, but it's broken during this heat wave.

My daughter has a mattress cover and then a sheet on top of that. We live in FL so we know heat. She's been sleeping with no blankie, and usually in just a diaper. if it's still really hot in her room she'll put her in a short sleeve shirt and turn the fan on medium just to keep the air moving. Hope your a/c gets fixed soon. good luck

We also use a quilted mattress cover under the sheets and if it is really hot we put a receiving blanket under there also. Ceiling fans work wonders but if you don't have one a fan not blowing directly on the baby does help keep the sweating to a minimum. I don't know about yours but our baby will get a heat rash also on her back which is helped by rubbing some hypoallergenic cornstarch baby powder on her (don't shake it, the dust can be breathed in!) Hope you get the a/c working soon!

i put a lambs wool liner between the sheet and mattress, plastic will make them hot, i had exactly the same troubles and after the lambswool not one more sweaty back, i dont know if its supposed to be versatile as in cool in summer warm in winter but it worked for me anyway
