my son is 6months old today, he was playing with his daddy earlier and then he kept on screaming and saying "mamamamamama" and then when i picked him up he stopped. i think he was trying to say mummy, but isnt he too young to talk?

nope, my daughter was talking about 6 mos. (little words ma ma da da and trying to repeat stuff that was said to her) She was fully conversational by the time she was 1 1/2 or 2 and today is the MOST talkative 3 1/2 year old i have ever known. Have fun lol

My son has been saying mama since he was seven months old. Some kids just say their first word quicker than others. :)

not too young all- when my bub was 5months she could say dad and mum now she is 8months she says mum dad, hello, love you and where dad? they all grow at different rates- for example my little one is almost walking where alot of my friends bubs dont walk untill then are one or even later

no he's not too young. my baby said mama at 4 months old. she is now 6 months old and keeps saying yea!

It's not early. He is not necessarily aware that he is saying a word, he is experimenting with different sounds. Every time he says it react to him, and he will soon learn that the sound mamama is associated with you. Now that he's made a start making different sounds try playing little games with him. Make different noises and see if he will copy you. When he does make sure you give him special cuddles. You need to encourage his talking:) There's nothing better then when your baby says mama for the first time:)
