Has anyone had problems with toilet training a boy to go number 2's int he toilet?
He has been wee trained for about 7 months now ( he is 3 years 3 months old) but will not poop in the toilet he asks for a nappy and if I dont give him one he will hold it and I have not allowed him to hold it for over 24 hours due to constipation.
I have started putting his nappy on and making him stand in the bathroom while he does his business then I remove the nappy put the poop into the toilet so he can see then sit him down and wipe then let him flush.
It does not seen to be a phobia of sitting on the toilet like most people assume, I have no idea why he wont do poop on the toilet and it is driving me bonkers! We have only just started the whole putting the poo from the nappy into the loo.

Has anyone had similar problems? How long did it take you to get them out of it and what did you do??

Thanks in advance!! :)

And yes he comes in with both my husband and myself when we go to the toilet and has been for a couple of years now (of course not everytime) and he see's he cousins go and friends go!
Thanks for your advice tho :)

Being that he is old enough to communicate with you...have you asked him why? Do this after a potty session but not during. Ask it in such a way that the question comes from a curiousity standpoint (tone of your voice is curious but not agressive) to help you help him. if he can't give you an answer, it's ok. you may plant a seed that will hopefully sprout if you ask him again a couple of days later.

i know this is more of a personal note, but has he seen anyone go number 2 on the potty? if not he may not realize that's where it's supposed to happen. just a thought, you never now. kids think the funniest things if they just don't know. hope this helps
