No one is in at my doctors office today and won't be in until Monday. I woke up with an UTI this morning well what i believe is an UTI. I am going to bathroom more frequent and i am really uncomfortable in my women region. I am 5 1/2 months pregnant, is there anything i can do? My husband went to the store and bought me cranberry juice but how much and how often do i drink it?

if your insurance covers an ER visit, i would just go in there. it'll probably take you a while to be seen, but you'll get something for it. you're pregnant, so if it is a bladder infection rather than a uti, they do need to treat you sooner than later and doctors at er are just as qualified as your ob (probably better). good luck!

Go to a natural food store and get black cherry concentrate, it's liquid and in the bottled juice isle. Mix two tablespoons with 8 oz water and drink all day. Its more effective than cranberry juice. Drink alot. If you have burning soak in tepid water with 1'4 cup baking soda to relieve discomfort. If doc okays it over the couter uti pills will stop itching and urgency.

Try some apple cider vinegar mixed in with water. Have as much of it as you can take, it really does help to ease the pain. And yes, lots of cranberry is good too. You could also get some Ural satchets from a chemist. Basically just powder that you mix in with water & it fizzes up. But the more you drink, the better it is. And I would try & see someone as soon as possible, because they are nasty things, that can be extremely painful. Oh, & after you come out of the toilet & it's hurting like hell from peeing, try putting a hot water bottle between your legs, that helps too.

Drink as much cranberry juice and water as possible but I've heard that UTI's and bladder infections can cause serious problems for pregnant women so maybe you should call your local hospital and find out if they have an outpatients department on the weekend where you can see a doctor. Sometimes they go away on their own with cranberry juice but since you are pregnant even if you wait til Monday, I would definately get it checked out.
