6 and a half month old Ella goes down for her morning sleep around 8am. Without fail within 30-60 mins she's wide awake and can not get her back to sleep. If I get her up she's cranky cause obviously she needs the sleep. I've resorted to not getting her up now and just leaving her to cry and hopefully settle herself back to sleep. Any suggestions or explanations greatly appreciated.

its sounds like you are either putting her down too early or too late. My daughter used to do that and i figured out i was putting her down too late so she was over tired so she didn't sleep as long. They say to put them down between and hour or 2 after waking. My 8 month old daughter gets up around 6:30 or 7:00 and goes down for her nap around 9:00 and she usually sleeps for an hour and a half sometimes longer.

what time does she get up to be having a nap at 8.00?? my little girl only sleeps for about 40mins at a time....she gets up at about 6.30-7.00 but dosent have her first nap untill 11.00- she is almost 5months

perhaps try keeping her awake longer, shoot for 8:30 or 9:00 for the first nap? Start her favorite game or do something that grabs her attn well around 8:00 so that you can get her to stay awake a bit longer. Worth a shot
