What do you do when your lil 8month old gets mesquetoe bites?

I think the real danger in using topical medications at this age is the risk of them ingesting it. If it is on their back or somewhere they can't possibly reach I would think it would be okay, if no I wouldn't risk it. I would check with my doctor first though. Baking soda pastes work good for bites so you could check to see if that is safe for babies, I've never had to do it so I am not sure. Something cold will help relieve the itching temporarily too, one of those ice packs for kids that are cloth covered so that they don't get too cold works great...my 11 year old still loves her medi-bear! lol Good luck!

I used a tiny dab of diluted lavender oil on my little one this summer. It calms the redness and swelling and is safe for babies.
