My son is just over 3 months, but a big eater and started on solids a week and a half ago. He spent 3 weeks on just rice, first in his btl then thinned out from a spoon. He started with pureed peached, peas next, followed by bananas, and will begin carrots tom. He starts every day with an 8 oz btl, the next 3 feedings are 6ox bottles...ALWAYS given first...followed by the pureed baby food. Last btl before bed is 8 oz formula/rice. Hes been doing great on it and those foods are really easy for the baby too. He will follow with Pears, sweet potatoes, applesauce, squash. Once he has tried them all for at least 3 days to detect for allergies, we will begine mixing and matched daily.

While there are a lot of ways to do this and there's no one "right" way to do anything, Mai, you might want to consider nursing your baby before the solids for each meal- for at least one year, breast milk/formula is their main source of nutrition (and really all they need) and you want to make sure they fill up on that first.

mine started at 3 months and she was formula fed the things i started with were pureed vegies and fruits the best ones to start with that arent hard to digest are sweet potato, carots, pumpkin, banana, apple, pear or berries if you get the canned stuff you can get the mixed berries anyway. mine also had rusks with spreads on them or you can just give them by themselves. you can use rice cereal but i stayed away from this as babies often hate the taste and it causes constipation.

I also struggled with this transition- I found too many conflicting "menus" online and nothing concrete. I started at 6 months as well (also still nursing). I found one site that I liked and stayed with it. Now that my 11 month old is mostly eating the same meals I eat, I still use the site for info on creative finger food, how and when to introduce things, etc.
