The package says stage two is from 6 months on. My son has been on stage two for a week and he's now 5 1/2 months. He does a lot better cause they are not so runny. try a small amount and see how it works for her. My son started eating cereal at 2 1/2 months. and veggies and fruit (stage 1) at 4 months.

I don't notice much difference from stage 1 to 2 and 3 besides the jars get bigger. When I started mine of stage 3 I wondered "Where's the chunks?!"

tried to post on here earlier, but guess it didnt work, whenever you feel ready really depends when the baby started on solids, mine started at 3 months so as ready to move onto other foods at an earlier age.

I am from the US and most of the Gerber fruits and veggies are still very watery. The meats and dessert yogurts are thicker. I guess it all depends on the brand and where you live. I knew my son would be fine on stage 2 because of the texture was not thick and chunky so I knew he wouldnt choke.

Melissa I dont know where you live, but I'm from the UK and or stage 2 foods are far from watery, I bought a jar called Beans, with veg and Sausage and was amazed to find half size baked beans init, the tins of spag hoops and pork sausages have little hoops in, so they are far from runny

I started my son on stage 2 foods at 6 months. The pedi said at his 6 month appt it was fine. The only real difference is the texture. But to be honest I think alot of the stage 2 are just as watery as the stage 1

the stage 2 foods are frm 7 months, but wholly depends on how well your baby feeds. My little girl was 6 months and 1 week when i put her on stage 2, but she is good at chewing although she has no teeth. She is now just over 8 months and as no baby food at all, she eats mainly what we eat, her fave food is chicken and you can really see her chewing it.

The box of stage 2 cereal I have hear says baby may be ready when he begins to teethe (though some don't have teeth til a year old or more!), able to close lips and swallow, shows ability to swallow non-liquid food instead of pushing it out.

And there is a picture of a little bear sitting unsupported, yes.

I thought you weren't supposed to give stage 2 until they are sitting unsupported
