Since i was pregnant with my first who is now 2 i have been interested in baby signing with them when my daughter was born i started signing with her but was so overwhelmed with everything else on top of being a new mum that the signing quickly faded in to the background. When she was about 16 months i found the Signing Time with Rachel Coleman and thought it was fantastic, After showing it to my bub numerous times I realized Signing Time is actually ASL American Sign Language and this is after my Daughter was signing over 20 Signs in ASL! I quickly found 'Bilby.net' A fantastic source for AUSLAN books, DVD's Etc, It was quite easy to switch over most of the signs to AUSLAN my daughter is very switched on and picked up the 'new' signs relatively quickly. Although Sofia Gollan (playschool) does one of the DVD's its still lacking the fun, catchy songs and colourful pictured that Rachel ads to her DVD's (i wish someone would make one like that in AUSLAN) Since signing with my daughter she speaks so incredibly well for her age! She rarely chucks a tantrum as she can get her point across. I LOVE IT! I have been signing with my now 9.5 month old son since birth and for a few months now he has been signing mum and dad not perfect but we knew what he was doing (one shake of the hand for mum two shakes for dad) but over the last week he has been properly signing dad. I'm SO proud of him (: Anyone else had any experience with signing?
