Has anyone else been put on bedrest because of preterm labor?

I am only 29 weeks and 2 weeks ago was put on strict bed rest with meds also for my contractions. I am still having them but I am sure it has to do with all the stress around me of not having my family close by and 4 other kids to take care of a hubby who has to travel for long periods of time...lol I do the fetal whatever test twice now and so far so good but for the most part I just try to do the best I can and keep my mind occupied by watching netflix and fb...

In two weeks I will considered full term but my dr really wants me to try to get past 38 weeks because I also have gestational diabetes....I'm just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I make it to 37 weeks.....2 weeks!!

I've been on bedrest for the last few weeks. Mine is becase of dilation not contactions so no meds for me thanfully. :) The important think to remember is not to get bogged down in what you can't do. Read a book, do a crosword puzzle. You can lay on the couch and watch tv with your family. Think of it as storing up rest before the baby comes and your sleep is all interupted. :)
I had to be in the hospital for a month with my first. That SUCKED!!! You definately don't want that so just bide your time a home, it's only a week or two right? :)

Thanks. I am very thankful that I am so close and I know some women who have been put on bedrest at 20 weeks or sooner so I feel very lucky. I have two children at home ages 6 and 3 and it's really hard to stay in bed all day when they need me too. I have very minimum help with them so it isn't easy. I am praying that she stays in until at least 36 weeks so she is too premature. Being able to get out of the house twice a week to go to the doctor helps lol. I am taking the news of being put on bedrest a lot better now than I was before. I am very fortunate I am so close to being full term. Only 2 1/2 weeks! Thank you again and God bless!

The same thing happened to me with my last baby. At 34 weeks too. It wasn't bad because I knew I only had a couple weeks of laying low before (until 37 weeks) then your considered term so they wont stop anything at that point. Then actually my daughter went 4 days over her due date =) Hang in there and be thankful you only have a couple weeks left. Some woman have to endure this their whole pregnancy.
