We have been trying to supplement a formula bottle for the past month into our son's feedings. I'm not producing enough milk to keep up with his appetite, so we have to do something. He gets so gassy and uncomfortable every time, often even waking him up a couple times at night and naps. We are on our seventh formula...we just started Similac Alimentum, but haven't noticed a difference yet. I'm going to give it a few more days. Does anyone have any suggestions?!?

I was having the same problem with mine but i talked to the doctor and she told me that when changing the babies formula you need to keep them on one for a week in a half to make sure its working or not. Babies have a hard time with formula changes cause their tummies dont work like ours right now it takes them longer to ajust to what you are giving them if you baby is still not doing good on the formula in a week in a half then try some thing else but if you change to soon then it will not get better. If that formula doesnt work try gerber gentle it worked wonders for mine, but you have to give your babies tummie time to adjust to what ever formula you try. I hope this is helpful

I have three boys and one on the way. I have used Organic formula and Playtex drop ins. Never had any issues.

Update: We are now using, Enfamil Gentlease (we tried other gentle formulas, but none worked) and Dr. Brown bottles. So far, he seems back to normal! We also use, since 1 month old, a children's probiotic. It helps with spitting-up and, it's supposed to help with belly issues.

Thanks for all the responses and help!

I too understand your pain. My son has the same stomach issues along with constiantly spitting up. We have tried numerous different formulas. The Alimentum Michael refused to drink at all so he was put on Similac Sensetive For Gas and Fussiness. It seems to work pretty well. I also use a product called Colic Calm. The Colic Calm I found online its an all natural remedy used for colic, gas, and spitting up and it's also approved by the FDA and the doctor. It can be used every 30 minutes up to six times a day as needed. It's sold online or at the CVS Pharmacy. Or Mylacon or Little Tummies brand gas drops work wonders also and they can be give as needed. Michael also only will sleep on his stomach which I find helps relieve the gas also. If he gets up I give him the set dose and put him back in bed with his binki and they work instantly! Good Luck..
