My little man is 9 months old and we have to take him on an 8 hour drive next week. He eats things like cheerios, and of course we are going to bring him some of those, but we've been trying to stay away from processed foods, like goldfish crackers and stuff like that, just looking for some ideas on something he can have that wouldn't be too messy? Thanks

I used cheerios and the best way I found to keep them from being all over my car was I threaded them together with dental floss. My kids could easily hold them and eat right off the string. It worked great and I never had a car seat full of cheerios.

My son's carseat has 2 cup holders, we put his water bottle in one and fill the other with an assortment of raisins, craisins, dates (chopped), cheerios, and (I use the Gerber snacks) freeze dried fruit bits and freeze dried yogurt drops (I feel they are a good mix between healthy and convenient.)
Of course, you can use fresh fruit, cheese, yogurt, fresh (or frozen) veggies for feeding when you are stopped, that way you will have a good balance and not too much mess.
Good luck

Carrot sticks, bread sticks, rusks, raisins, sugar free flapjack, cheese sticks any thing you can hold in your hand really. Just take lots of wet wipes to clean up the aftermath!
