hi we are naming are 2nd son Sedrick Lee my family hates it. they say he will get beat up cuz its a " old person name". i really dont see a issue with it he can go by Rick or Lee if he wants. our 1st son name is Samuel Clyde. in this day and time ppl are using different names!

I wouldn't mind it horribly if it weren't spelled so strangely.

I'm all for traditional names....we named our son Henry Arthur (family names) an "old persons"name is great because one day your son will be old and have the perfect name for his age...my name is Amelia Kathleen and I got teased all the time when I was a kid because I have such an "old persons"name...okay that's fine, so when I'm 95 I'll have the perfect name....traditional names have stood the test of time and will continue to do so...cutesy made up names only last so long and most of them are stupid

I had family AND friends that were that way about our son's name. Lots of people said that he would be called "Ben" instead of "Benton Grover". Now that he is here though everyone calls him by both of his names and it fits him perfectly. Name your child what you think his name should be. Everyone else will get used to it.

i like that name i think ppl should just mind their own business. my family is great with my 3 yr old but they have not said one postive thing about our 2nd boy like " i wounder what he will look like..... or yay 2 boys or just ask how he is doing since we told them the name. they are just focused on his name. my hubby family is awesome they respect are decisions on everything we do as the parents including the name. and they talk about him all the time ask how he is doing i just my family was that way.

Yea I love unique names too for the same reason. I hate my name. There are WAY too many Nichole's in this world....we may spell it different but bleh. And the nickname Nikki drives me nuts especially since it's my step sisters name. And my husband is Ryan...and he's got the same problem with his name. He's good friends with several Ryan's and they all go by there last names just to avoid confusion. Well we named our little boy Lacota. (suppose to be spelled Lakota like the native american tribe, it looks better with a 'c' to us.) People gave us trouble about his name too. Some still do.

thank you it just gets old when all u hear is neg stuff. in my eyes its like they are making fun of him cuz they are being neg. i keep saying the same thing to them but its like they all have to put in their 2 cents! me and my hubby are not traditional ppl my hubby has at least 30 to 40 tats i have 9 lol. we dont go by the " book" of raising are boys so we dont like traditonal names. i hated growing up with the name Jessica cuz there was always another girl in my class with that name so in 6th grade i started going by Jessy. i just wish they would stop!!!

I think it's really cute. Ignore your family, name your baby what you want. I love your choice!
