My husband thinks that three names is highly impractical. I'm an artist and a dreamer so I can't imagine just giving my child two names. It's it impractical? Legal documents only allow for a first name and a middle intial so would it ever be a problem? (I don't see it being a problem but maybe I'm wrong) Can you put three names on a BC?

I have a friend who has two middle names, and it's never caused a problem for her. If she has to just put one initial, she always just puts the initial of her first middle name. With the right combination, I think three names can sound very nice.

My twins both have three names and a hyphenated last name. All five names appear on their social security cards and their birth certificates.

I have three names ( Lindsay Catherine Maria) and love it!! Its unique! Usually there is only one spot for a middle name. My first drivers license only had a spot for one but when i got it renewed there was a spot for a second initial! I was soo excited so i think people are getting used to the fact that some people have two middle names

my name is Amber Jasmine Rachelle, my older sister is Erica Renee Nicole, and my brother is Brendan Andrew Theodore....i LOVE our names and have no problem with 3 instead of 2! growing up, i found a few people that were awed by the extra name. it never caused problems. we used our first middle name on documents, so that was never an issue. on my drivers license it says my middle name is Jasmine Rachell because it couldnt fit the "E" on the end..but other than that, no problems!!!

I like the idea of three names...maybe I'm the same as you! Sometimes it just flows. My husband wants to keep it 'simple' with just one middle name. The name we have chosen if we have a girl is very simple so I thought two middle names would make it sound a little more elegant and girly. Not sure about the birth certificate...I imagine you could put both on there?
