Hello, I'm a first time mom of a now 7 month old boy. I have never used a sling as none of my friends of family members have used them so I've never been exposed to the idea. I've been reading more about baby wearing and am wondering if it's too late to purchase a sling or baby carrier for my son and just wait till my next baby to give it a try. Any help would be appreciated.

Where I live, there is a cute little parenting store that sells several diffent types of carriers. They actually have one of each kind out of the boxes so you can try them all on! If you're lucky enough to have a store like this nearby, check out as many different kinds as you can before purchasing. Different parents and babies like different carriers.

I have a 6 mo old that I carry in a ring sling as well - I have a Maya Wrap. I was just talking to a friend last night about a carrier for on your back, and she really recommends the EcoBaby carrier.

It is deffinitly not too late and I hope you find something you both really like! I absolutely love wearing my baby!

Not at all! A ringsling is ideal for this age, I have a 9 month old and she loves it. She sits on my hip and can look forward or rest her head for a nap. I also have a meitai because for longer walks we strap her to my husbands back as it's heavy for one shoulder to carry her for long distances. We even wear her when doing housework. It's great! Mine is a freedom sling. Lightweight but strong and not expensive.
