i was considering putting a big pocket on the tail to use instead of a diaper bag sometimes...the only thing wrong with this seems to be that when the tail will be used as a coverup, there might be a problem if theres anything bulky in the pocket (diapers, burp cloth, etc.)..any advice?

I LOVE the pockets in my ring slings!!!! I think part of it would depend on how often you use the tail as a coverup - and where? I have never had a problem with it being bulky - just with things in there being hard. I usually take my keys and phone out and sit them somewhere while I nurse - the diaper and other soft things don't bother me/baby. Other times, I just pull the body of the sling up and over as a cover.

You could also consider putting a pocket on the body of the sling - especially if you wear the rings on the same shoulder each time. You would want a thin zipper/velcro though for getting it thru the rings.

I do have one sling that annoys me when it hits my leg when the pocket is full - but I think the tail is too long on it. My other sling is shorter and does not bother me like that - so I think that would all depend on how long you make your tail.

But I definitely LOVE the pocket and totally recommend it! I think you can make it work for you. And you can always just remove the pocket if you find it doesn't work for you!

I have a Maya Wrap with a large pocket. It has come in handy every once in a while, but the pocket feels bulky when it is full and hits your leg.

A diaper and small bag of wipes probably shouldn't be too bad- I personally prefer to carry them in my purse.

Hi Amber,

I make my slings without pockets so I can use them for blankets, cover ups, wraps, etc...but have to give up the convenience of that extra pocket.
