Ring sling vs pouch?

I bought a Maya Wrap when my son was born and never quite got comfortable with using it.

Is it normal for them to take a while to get used to being carried in it? I kind of think he could tell I was nervous about it, so maybe I should have just practiced more, but I am wondering if I should try a different type of sling when #3 gets here in January. Any suggestions?

I would go buy one type of carrier when the baby comes and keep the receipt. Just try it out on an errand or two and if you like it, keep it. If you don't you can return it and try out another one.
I have an Infantino Sling. I like it. I got mine for free, so i didn't get to shop around. I would have tried a bunch of different ones out if I had the chance.

If it's too tight they don't like it. Pouch slings are good if you get a perfect fit. Ring slings I don't like - too hard to get it perfectly adjusted and then it slips through the rings. I prefer my moby - it's by far the most comfortable one I've tried

I LOVE my Moby wrap! I'm not sure how different it is from a Maya?? I just had my #3 in March and it is a GODSEND! I was always nervous with the hotsling becasue i was afraid of her head squishing forward and cutting off her air. The Moby you can use so many ways and they are molded to you. Fabulous! I would say to get comfortable with it before the baby comes...practice wrapping it and wear it around the house once the baby comes to get used to it. Congrats and good luck! (P.S. The Moby holds them by your heart...my daughter would calm down immediately!)
