What kind of carrier do you prefer? Which kinds do you own?

I prefer different carriers for different situations.



I love, love, LOVE the ring sling for errands because it is so quick and easy to get the baby in and out.



A mei tai is great for hiking or for wearing the baby for a longer time or for the airport. I recently purchased a soft-structured carrier (SSC) to try for hiking as well so we'll see how that goes.



I recently learned to wrap and have really been digging the wrap for keeping baby close while doing things around the house.



I own several RSs, a mei tai and an Ergo. Hoping to buy a wrap soon (have been borrowing one).

I started with a crotch dangler with my first, sling with my second, and finally wrap with my third. I love my sling for older babies, and warm weather. I love the wrap for cold weather and newborns. I also have mei tais that I love for toddlers and back carries.

I started with an Over the Shoulder Baby Holder, and I really liked it, but now I perfer the Etc. Sling. It has a lot more ways to use it and it's extremely comfortable. You can find it at slingsandmore.com

I have a ring sling, made for me by a friend. He is 2 1/2 months old and I don't know what I would do without it! I would like to get more though and try out others.

mmm, i too had a baby bjorn type one, i couldnt stand it, hurt my back so much! id given up on baby carriers until i was pregnant with my now nearly 1yo! but if anyones interested, ive found a site with patterns and directions (really easy too! ) to make your own slings, mei tais, pouches etc, but id like to know if i can post a link?

My husband and I both have pouch style slings by hotslings, and we recently bought a custom made reversible Baby Hawk mei tei.
We both love the Baby Hawk as it distributes the weight more evenly and if feels like my 16lb son is weightless!
However, the pouch style sling is wonderful to calm him when he is fussy.
Both are great for different situations!
However, we bought a "Snugli" (like a Baby Bjorn) and hate it. It's uncomfortable and puts a lot of pressure on your back and shoulders.

i have a sling-ezee ( http://www.slingezee.com/ ) and i love it. i am the 4th mom to own this one and it is about 14 years old, it is well broken in but holding up well. i dont go anywhere without my sling. i use it with my 7 month old and when she is sleeping in the stroller and my 2 year old is cranky i carry her in the sling. shes about 30 pounds and it helps take the weight off my back.

Have you checked out the Slingling baby slings? They are fitted to your size, and you don't have to worry about adjusting a ring--they are just one solid piece of fabric. I LOVE mine, and I have moved from the cradle carry to the kangaroo carry to the side carry with my son. He is so happy in it.

My favorite sling of all time in the ergo baby carrier. I have backpain sometimes, and when I wear Aminah in the ergo I am always pain free. Plus its fun now to wear her on my back and she gets a kick out of it!

I have a Sleepy Wrap and it's awesome. Very comfy and versatile. Bought it in black and even hubby wears it.

I LOVE my mei tais. I made one of my own.. and also bought a few. I prefer my own over the bought ones. I am also a huge fan of my wraps.. my favorite is my Vicky Storch wrap..

Babywearing can be addicting!! I have a Balboa Baby ring sling, a Nojo ring sling, a Polkadot Papoose sling, hotsling, and sleepy wrap. I'm getting an ABC soon, and either an Ergo or Beco butterfly for Christmas :)

hi, i have an 11 month daughter, and only started using a sling when she finally became too much for my arms to bear over long periods of time anymore! but i am now the proud owner of a ring sling, and couldnt be happier! neither could my daughter, although she still gets a little fidgety in it sometimes, other times youd think she'd always been in one!

but i dont think id try another type of carrier, as i really like how versatile ring slings are and they are comfortable, you just have to learn to get the strap across your shoulder/arm not on your shoulder/neck zone, lol took me a couple of times to learn that one properly lol! to be honest, i think im going to get another one soon, so i can have more than one colour! :-p

I have pretty much one of everything- a Mei Tai made by Greenbean, an SSC (toddler Patapum), a Ring Sling (DIY), a pouch (Mamma's Milk adjustable), a DIY woven wrap, a DIY gauze wrap, a stretchy wrap, and a DIY podaegi. My favorites are the Mei Tai, and the Ring Sling but I loved the stretchy and gauze wraps when my son was smaller (he's 18 months now).
I tried all the mainstream stuff with my older son, and I really was never comfortable in any of it (Snugli, Hip Hammock, and Nojo) every carrier I own now is more comfy than they were!!
