Thats definately the way to go, although I was the one tearful on the way home and even 6 weeks in thier are times I miss during the day. Her class is only thirteen and so each child is taught at thier working level in the style and with the support that suit them. I'm sure you have done your best to explain to the school the type of support your son needs and I sure they will do thier best to achieve that. I grew up with speech problems and although I was teased by some you grow to ignore because your friends and teachers really don't notice it.

Its very normal my 4 and a half year old daughter started prep school in September, she was lucky as she had already been in nursery and pre-school on the same site it was just a change of classroom. But having said that it was also a change of structure, uniform and teachers. She was very keen to go and has settled in very well, but the school has helped this by being very good at communicating information and treating school and home as a two way enviorment helping mums to continue and support the learning process at home. I am sure if you talk to the school they will be only to happy to reassure you and explain how you can best support your child in this process. From a personnal point of view I find a good routine before and after school is essencial that way the child is settle and they know exactly what is going to happen and they are able to wind down for a good nights sleep. x
