Should I change schools?

My daughter is in Year 1. Last year she loved school, loved her teacher and just had so much fun!!! We moved to a new town at the end of last year and she started her new school at the start of the first term. Her teacher is a sour thing and yells at the kids constantly, I have had no specific issues with her but I know quite a few other mums have made complaints about her. My daughter very often comes home and says she had a bad day because her teacher yelled all afternoon!!!

I don't know wheather to change schools or not?? I fear her whole attitude towards school with be affected if we stay??? But then starting a new school and having to make friends when they have already got their little groups etc will be hard also. She is a very outgoing girl and usually makes friends pretty easily though.

What do you think I should do??

Well thanks ladies! after much deliberation we have decided to change schools and it was my daughters idea! She came home the other day and said to me one of the boys from her class has just gone to a diff school and can she go too! I asked why and she said because the teacher yells all the time and we don't have fun! So that was all it took to make up my mind, she starts on Mon!
I am really happy with my choice, the new school is so lovely, it has a bright happy atmosphere and all the kids look happy and I met the teachers and they all seem really nice too!!! So fingers crossed all will be ok!

I would talk to the principal and really get to the bottom of this. Maybe the principal can call in a parent/teacher conference and you can share your concerns in front of both of them. No teacher should yell at a child. It's very disturbing and there's really no need for it. School is place to learn and have fun with other kids, and it pisses me off that some teachers have to ruin that experience for our children because they don't have patience. I wish you the best of luck. If all else fails, I'd say go to a different school.

deffieniatly talk to the teacher and see if there are issues there WHY she screams all the time..If that doesnt help I would contac the principle ....explain your siyuation to him and get the other mom's to write letters or talk to the principle as well...It is VERY INAPPRIOPATE for her as a teacher to be yelling. peroid!
