Cassandra, thanks for the invite. Unfortunately, I have a full time job and don't get much time to do activities outside the house other than on weekends. I love your idea and would love to make time for a gathering, but I will be very limited when it comes to availability. Keep me posted though, I just might be able to make one of the get-togethers.

I think its great to get something going here in Bakersfield! I'm a foster mom and right now I have a 7 month old little boy. But I could get more kids at anytime. I would love to help with what I can and would love to meet other foster parents as well! Thanks for the invite.

I have a 2 year old, a 6 year old and a 16 year old, love to join. Do you all utilize the free family movies at Bakersfield Stadium 14 on Ming? They are older movies that you could rent on video and they start the 2nd week in June an go through until August 5th. There are two movies a week and you can go and watch them on Tues, Wed or Thur. There's a bunch of kids there, so it's okay if your kid isn't completely quiet.

Hi all, I appreciate the invite. I have a 2 year old and one on the way in October. I am in Oildale and been here since Jan 2008. Before that we were in SW for a year and hopefully will be there again by years end since we are wanting to buy a house soon. Laurelglen area seem to be the best options for us. Praying it will all work out. We are originally from Ventura County and basically all our family is still there.

I would love to join. I have a daughter named Hope who is 20 months old. Our favorite park is Jastro, near Oak and Truxton. It has a water spray area which will be great once it gets warm.

Wow ladies you are awesome. What a great support group you can have. I am a grandma and full time babysitter for my daughter who is almost finished with school (Dec 2010). He is 23 months old now. His mommy is 26, My son is. 22 will finish college in 2010 also, (Dec). I have another daughter who is 29, working and married.

Jessica- yeah I don't get around to doing much scrapbooking lately but it is a lot of fun! I was kind of intimidated when I first started too but then you get into your own routine of how you like to decorate your own pages. Mmmmmm......new idea! a scrapbooking mommy and baby/kids group. I wonder if anyone would be interested in like a once a month scrapbook day where we can bring our kids with us.....

The brand of scrapbooking I use is Creative Memories, I don't know any sellers (it works kind of like avon/mary kay) personally but if there is enough interest and enough dedicated moms i'd be willing to become a seller.

Mosty photographing my children, I got a DSLR last year, and I've been learning the ins and outs of it. I don't plan on being professional any time, at least any time soon! I'm not so interested in development, mostly just learning how to capture correct lighting and simple editing. I love both color and B&W. I don't think I'm near entering a contest yet, maybe someday.

I would loe to get into scrapbooking! I'm a little taken aback with it because it seems like a LOT of work! But I've always wanted to give it a go!

Hi everyone! My kids are not school age yet! They're 4 & almost 2. I'm pretty active in online mommy group activities. My parenting interests are breastfeeding, cloth diapering, and car seat safety. I'm a pretty avid car seat fanatic! My son is 4y/o & in a high weight harnessing seat. My daughter is 23m/o and is in an extended rear facing seat. I love helping others learn more about their seats and their requirements. In America, an astonishing 3 out of 5 car seats are improperly installed and used! Car seat safety is very important, and I encourage every parent to educate themselves :)

I'm also interested in sewing, crocheting (maybe knitting someday when I'm brave!), photography, and traveling.

I'd love to get in touch with local moms of the same interests!

Thanks for responding ladies! :-) And the group is for everyone even those with older kids and what not. I am hoping to meet some moms with kids around the same age as my daughter Lilliana (she's 8 months) so she can have some play buddies. All mom's have a wealth of knowledge so of course everyone is welcome and i'm glad you guys have joined! Feel free to post anything!! :-)

I'm not sure how old your kids are. We are part of a homeschool group. If you are interested and even if your kids are not school age you would be more than welcome to come hang out with us. We have park day every Thursday and we also do field trips and have other activities.

Hi Cassandra. I hope that your efforts will be worthwhile! I have older children than you but wanted to let you know that I benefitted greatly from participation in a moms group when mine were younger. Now I am a lactation consultant and I facilitate the Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Breastfeeding Support Group. Please feel free to share our info with anyone who might need some extra breastfeeding/ attachment parenting love! We are at 327-4647 and we carry 3 pagers: 379, 380, and 342. We are happy to provide phone help, in-person consults, and invite anyone to our support group.
