I listen when my husband is talking to his ex. However, that is because she talks really loud and I can hear her without my husband putting her on speaker phone. She use to call and scream at him, or tell him off about me, ect. I finally used the info I had gathered from sitting there innocently and overhearing her rants to call her up. Right now, there is a budding relationship building between us. She knows I'm not trying to take over or replace her, just love her son.

Sounds like the SM is threatened by you in some way. My kids SM was that way with me for a little while but I finally had enough & sat down with her & asked her why she was this way & I found out my ex was telling her that I still wanted him back & that everytime we talked I tried to get him back. I assured her that he is my ex for a reason & the only reason I talk to him is because of the kids. To be honest I think all Bio moms feel like the SM is calling the shots at one point or another & it is frustrating but sadly there really isn't much we can do about it if our exes wont make the decisions & let they SM make them. I don't know if I was of any help but I wish you the best of luck
