I am a working mom that loves to save and find events with my 2 kiddos! Come join us on our journey of practical frugality....

What's the single best decision about money you've made?

I have decided to purchase items with coupons and do small stockpiles. This as a general rule has been the best money decision I have made. My family uses only one type of laundry detergent, so when I can get it down with a sale and coupon I typically buy a few. I do the same for toiletries and things like hand soap. It is just one cabinet and one shelf in my laundry room so it is practical. I also do the same with diapers and keep them under the bed!

Does your child receive an allowance? If so, how much? (Please share how old your child is.)

My children are 2 and 6. I am going to implement an allowance for him this year. I am going to make it chore-bases. My children are also very good about not buying something unless it is on sale or has a coupon. They are learning at a young age.

What's an easy way moms can trim their family food budget?

I believe the easiest way is to price match at Walmart. In my area of Tucson, Arizona we have 4 different supermarkets that offer Wednesday only produce specials and double ad days. I go every Wednesday to Walmart and price match all of my produce. Coupons are rare for produce and normally a grocery store runs 1-3 deals on produce items so if I can get all the deals in one place it saves me time, money and gas! There is an example in the links.
