My three kids adore pirates right now! This year we had a pirate-themed party for their birthdays (they all have the same birthday!) and it was SO fun! Mama and Papa MOE dressed up with bandanas on our heads and the kids had felt captain hats I found at an art store. We had a pirate ship cake (SO easy to make! I found the design on the Disney website) and we did a treasure hunt. While I read the kids a pirate story inside, my husband ran around the backyard hiding plastic gold coins. Because the kids were young, I made signs to help them find the treasure. I printed out "Jake and the Neverland Pirates" characters and pasted them on cardboard to hold them upright. Everyone had a great time and my kids loved their party. For more ideas, I wrote a Pirate Day blog post a little while ago.|
