In what ways is your home town unique from other places you've lived or traveled?

I have two home towns. One is Zagreb, Croatia which is unique because it is a capital, but still small and livable. And it has a huge market in the heart of the city. Main square is always full of people, carrying baskets of fruits and veggies and colorful flowers in their hands. Budapest is where I live. Budapest is crazy, versatile and so full of content and always leaves me feeling I will never be able to do it all.

What do your kids love most about living in the European Union?

I am not sure why you speak about European Union in several places. Europe is much more than European Union. My kids have no idea what European Union means - that is a political term in my opinion, and it really doesn't make a difference to them. As living in Europe goes, my children are multilingual, they travel do different countries to see their grandparents and it is all in driving distance.

What outdoor activity do you enjoy doing most with your kids?

Playground culture is quite big here, so if we don't know what to do, going out to the playground is always an option.

What do you do with all your digital photos? Please share your best tip for rediscovering memories and de-cluttering your hard drive.

Petra

I make photo books of my kids for grandparents, I also put loads on the blog, and I have a separate blog to update the family on the boys day to day. Now that I think of it, I hardly have any other photos, but photos of my kids since I am a mom. :)

Can you recommend a great toy that costs less than $10? Please share a link to a photo.

Petra

I love paper and cardboard toys. They are eco friendly, boost creativity, you can make them yourself, or buy them from creative designers, like this one http://www.bagofpretty.blogspot.com/2012/06/pappet-creative-paper-toys-interview.html I would also recommend Mr Printables (http://www.mrprintables.com/) fro beautifully designed free printables for kids.

Papercraft Alphabet is first to come to my mind, and I guess it can be used as early as preschool age. Also check out my Free Printables board on Pinterest http://pinterest.com/bagofpretty/free-printables/

What's the single most precious memento you have from your children's infancy that's not a photo? Please incude a link to a picture if you're willing to share!

Petra

My most precious thing is actually not a thing, but a memory of my little boy (suddenly turned big) waiting for me in front of the elevator with a huge bouquet when I was coming from the hospital with his new brother. How he gave me the flowers and looked at me was the most breath-taking moment of my life and I will never forget it. There was supposed to be a photo, we only realized later that daddy was clicking the empty camera without the memory card and he never noticed due to all the excitement:)

Quilts made from outgrown onesies, benches from cribs, spice jars from baby food containers... how have you re-purposed your old baby and kid items? Please share a photo if you have one.

Petra

I loove upcycling onesies, there are so many possibilities and some of them have great pattern and text which can be used when kids get older. They are also soft and perfect for summer beanies. My most recent project though is tiny clothes for my sons lovey, which turned out too cute for words and it took 10 minutes to make. http://www.bagofpretty.blogspot.hu/2013/03/tini-clothes.html http://bagofpretty.blogspot.hu/2012/04/kcwc-spring-day-1-upcycled-onesie-head.html
