What's a great destination for a family vacation in Australia?

Have a mini holiday in your own state. That way you omit the dramas of flying, dragging car seats and prams on planes! Book a 2 bed apartment at a beach you've always wanted to visit but never got around to. We did it in Feb, we had an apartment right on the beach only an hours drive away from home and it was a fantastic get away without having to go too far away.

What's the biggest misconception people have about raising a family in Australia?

That an average family is two kids, two adults. Most places will offer a family price a bit cheaper but it is always two adults two kids it's not a one size fits all. If you have three kids or more you are more likely to be attracted to places with family deals but for some reason a family of four is the cut off doesn't suit us breeders or blended families for that mater.

What outdoor activity do you enjoy doing most with your kids?

I love things that don't cost a cent, so that means playgrounds and parks. After hours the primary school playground is fair game. Never have one of my kids said to me, "Do we have to go to the playground!".
